Mimis Bakery

yet another portrait shot for pittsburgh professional magazine, this time at mimi's bakery in cranberry. these folks were nothing but exceptionally kind and went out of their way to let me disrupt their work day by letting me run around in the bakery. this was one of two portraits that i think worked out really well to show them in the environment.

shot using the dyna-lite pack with one medium/large softbox up high and right of the camera and a corse gridspot raking light across the background.

Dan Vitchoff

got the opportunity to shoot a portrait of dan vitchoff for pittsburgh professional magazine. was a great shoot and i got to do some really cool photos in the office that he works out of and got to hear some of the backstory of his work with the olympic sharpshooters. great guy to work with and had a great crew in his office to help out so we had a lot ton fun and accomplished a ton of work.

shot using a dyna-lite pack with two heads. one camera right with a medium softbox and one almost in front of the camera with a medium grid on the background.

Jackie Wilson

went downtown today to the Three Rivers Adoption Council to shoot Jackie Wilson, an executive director that has been with the company for about 8 years. we were a little pressed for time and space so we shot in her office that overlooks 4th ave and catches a glimpse of the PPG building. was a neat little shoot that really forced me to make due with the environment that i had.

shot using the dyna-lite pack with a small softbox as well as a nikon sb-28 with a slave for fill.

Also...

have a couple random shots to put up.
the first is a group of powerlines that looked too cool not to shoot.
the second is a really moody image of some elevator control and power switches.

pretty nifty.

Pittsburgh Professionals Shoot

hey there,
just got the opportunity to shoot with Pittsburgh Professionals Magazine last week and got to do some pretty cool work. went to shoot Susan Hough, who is the director of the Washington Hospitals Childrens Therapy Center in McMurray. the shoot went really well and Susan was really easy going and patient with me as we shot a couple locations. the space at the center was really geared towards the rehabilitation and child work that they were doing so i was really tight on finding a space to shoot so we settled on one location inside and one out on the playground that Susan had worked so hard to raise money to build.

these were shot using the dyna-lite pack with a small softbox on Susan and a remote controlled nikon sb-28 speedlight on the background for fill.

Outdoor Life Shoot #2

shot another portrait today for Outdoor Life Magazine, this one of Ron Fretts in his house. he happened to have a great den area that housed a wall of antlers he had collected over the years and obviously taken great pride in. so we shot two locations, the primary being the antler wall and the second being a wall with just a rams head on it. was a great shoot and Ron was nothing but great to deal with.

this was lit using a dyna-lite pack with two heads, one with a small soft box positioned high and right and one with a honeycomb grid directly behind the subject. i also used window light for a small bit of fill.

Alchemy Catering

just wrapped up a shoot for a local catering company for use on their website and for any promotional needs they may have. everything was lit with window light and a basic fill card (a.k.a. foamcore propped up with a clamp). was a fun shoot and the girl who runs the company has a great eye for presentation and preparation. love shooting food!
